Mom brings Grandma and Smudge to our house. When Grandma gets out of the car, I know my mother is wrong about the Alzheimer's Disease. Grandma looks just the same. She smiles and waves at me like she always does. I think she is just the best grandmother in the whole world.

Grandma tells me about her Alzheimer's Disease. "It's like having my mind filled with cobwebs", she says. "It doesn't hurt or make me feel sick. It just makes it hard for me to think clearly and figure out how to do things."

I learn the best thing about Alzheimer's Disease is people can't catch it from each other. It isn't like flu or chickenpox. I say, "Cool," and give Grandma a big hug.

I guess Grandma forgot. She keeps calling my yellow cat Smudge. Her real name is Mustard.
