When Mom comes to see me after awhile, she isn't real mad anymore. She sits on my bed and says, "Fighting with Katherine was wrong, but it made me realize your father and I have been so upset about Grandma that we haven't paid much attention to how you've been feeling."

I try to tell her how angry I am that Alzheimer's Disease makes Grandma act different and how sorry I am for making fun of her. All I can do is cry. My mother cries about Grandma too.

"We're being silly.", Mom decides, "It's okay to be sad, but all the crying in the world won't fix Grandma's Alzheimer's Disease. Laughing isn't a cure either," she says, "but it is always good medicine."
